Snap and Keep
Based on Snap.
Like traditional Snap but players discard to a single pile in middle. When consecutive cards on discard pile make a pair, first player to call “Snap!” and slap pile takes cards and keeps one of the pair cards in their winning cards. Kings are wild.
Cards played – 52 cards.
Scoring – First player to make three pairs in their winning cards is the winner.
How to play Snap and Keep, 2 or more players
- Shuffle cards.
- Deal all cards to the players face down.
- Players do not look at their cards.
- Player to left of dealer takes top card off their pile and places it face up in the middle starting the discard pile.
- Next player draws top card off their pile and places it face up on discard pile. Play continues until two consecutive cards on discard pile make a pair. First player to call “Snap!” and slap hand on pile takes all the cards in discard pile and adds them to the bottom of their face down stack but sets aside one of the pair cards in their winning cards face up.
- Next player in rotation starts new discard pile.
- Kings are wild but can only be used as the top card to make a pair with card of another kind.
- When a player wins with a King wild card, the non-King card is placed in their winning cards.
- If a player calls “Snap!” and there is no pair, player gives each player one card from top of their face down stack. Penalty cards are added to the bottom of a player’s face down stack.
- If a player runs out of cards, they sit out until the next round.
- If card is played after a pair and no player has called “Snap!” the pair is lost.
- First player who makes three pairs in their collected winning cards is the winner.
- If no player has made three pairs and only one player has cards to play, that player takes cards in their face down stack and the discard pile, reshuffles and deals them evenly to the players to start next round.
